FNHA: FAQ

ABOUT FNHA COUNSELLING

First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) provides funding for 22 counselling sessions per year for mental wellness for Indigenous people who have First Nations Status and reside in British Columbia.

Counsellors with Emotion Wise Counselling have completed the San'yas Indigenous Cultural Safety training and have registered as an approved provider with FNHA and have experience working with Indigenous clients.

We are honored to work with First Nations clients all over BC virtually and provide in-person FNHA counselling in Vancouver.

HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

You can book an initial free 20 minute phone consultation with our FNHA counsellors by contacting us

or booking directly in our booking calendar.

To be approved for counselling we will need to collect information and complete paperwork prior to starting counselling that may take 1-2 weeks before FNHA approves the funding.

WHAT IF I CANNOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

FNHA does not pay for no-show or late cancellation fees and you may be charged a no show fee. Please let your counsellor know 48 hours before your session if you cannot make it to avoid a cancellation charge.
