My journey towards counselling started as a volunteer at a sexual assault centre. It is such a gift to witness people’s light and strength no matter what they are going through. I had taken a scenic route to counselling, previously working in criminal justice, wellness and yoga. My previous clinical work included family reunification work through MCFD and supporting individuals recovering from workplace trauma and injuries. These experiences laid a strong foundation for my clinical work, and I now focus on helping folks navigate trauma, anxiety, and OCD.
My approach to therapy is both gentle and irreverent, looking for strengths, opportunities for joy and dismantling unhealthy patterns. I am interested in interrogating the systems we exist in and that have shaped us and the lessons that we learned from an early age. I am a firm believer in therapy being collaborative; I focus on helping folks learn to become grounded in themselves and to trust their capacity to overcome whatever life throws at them.
